Scholarships OverviewWelcome to the CAWC Scholarship section! The Canadian Association of Wound Care is dedicated to the advancement of wound care in Canada by co-coordinating a collaborative, interdisciplinary effort among individuals and organizations involved with wound caring. The CAWC offers educational and research scholarships worth up to $2500 each, which will serve to support educational and research initiatives to promote best practice and improve patient care within the wound care community. The CAWC defines a scholarship as an amount of money that is given to an individual to support him/her while pursuing further education. A grant is an amount of money given to an individual to support a project (Education or Research). With the exception of applicants for the International Award, all applicants must be Canadian citizens and CAWC members in good standing for at least one year at the time of application. The three different categories of scholarships offered by the CAWC are: 1. Educational Scholarships available to CAWC members resident in Canada:
Applicants for this scholarship should be novices in wound care seeking to increase knowledge through attending a conference or a course.
Applicants for this scholarship should be health-care professionals pursuing studies at the doctorate level at a recognized Canadian university. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing work in a nursing discipline.
Applicants for this scholarship should have some experience in wound care and be looking for educational settings that will provide opportunities to develop themselves as wound-care enablers/knowledge brokers in their work environment.

This scholarship is for an interdisciplinary team of wound care providers (e.g, RN & PT; PT and RD) to apply to attend the IIWCC.
This scholarship is for an individual who is interested in attending a wound-care conference or course with a focus on disseminating wound-care education to his/her practice environment.
This scholarship is awarded to a health-care professional dedicated to furthering wound-care education.
2. Educational Scholarships available to residents of countries other than Canada:
This scholarship provides support for a health-care professional from outside Canada to attend the CAWC conference or the IIWCC program. 3. Research Scholarships: This scholarship is intended to be used to develop/continue a research project that is focused on advancing wound-care practices across the continuum of care.
This scholarship will provide the researcher with the opportunity to develop/continue a project evaluating the effectiveness of advanced wound-care practices within the clinical environment.
